In the past decade, Africa’s hotel market has become known among hospitality industry insiders as one to watch.

The number of users in this market is projected to reach 119.50m by 2028, with a 7.5% penetration in 2024 and an 8.4% penetration by 2028. In addition, the average revenue per user is forecasted to be US$123.90*.

This conversion project will transform a heritage building in Djibouti into a hotel. The property will be managed by Accor’s MGallery Hotel Collection and located in Dijibouti’s central business district. Visitors can expect a restaurant, coffee shop, courtyard, swimming pool, fitness centre, and gym.

Mandarin Oriental Shepheard

Mandarin Oriental Shepheard will be the luxury hotel group’s first in Egypt and marks an expansion of their presence across the African continent. The international hotelier will be converting Cairo’s celebrated Shepheard Hotel into a Mandarin Oriental property. The hotel is situated on the eastern shores of the Nile River in the heart of downtown Cairo.

Le Carrousel Art Hotel 

Le Carrousel Art Hotel will be a mixed-use destination located in the Moroccan coastal city of Rabat. It will feature an outdoor mall with more than 120 shops and restaurants. There will also be over 200 unique residential seaside apartments and a waterfront with 36 promenade shops. To top it all off, there will be 12,000 sqm of office space!

Tanzania’s famed Serengeti Explorer is getting a makeover and will reopen to guests toward the end of this year. Known for its remarkable location on the Nyaboro Hills, the hotel is a perfect hub for guests to embark on a safari. The property will expand, gaining a wide range of new dining options and more room constellations.

Forum El Djazair is an Algerian-designed, Algerian-owned hotel situated in a prime locale on the coast of the country’s largest city, Algiers. The newly built property will be on a plot of 2.65ha and will be a mixed-use destination. This will include restaurants, recreational areas, and shopping.
