In this spotlight, we take a look at some of the most interesting Marriott hotels currently in progress across Europe, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific region—all drawn from our hotel database.

Marriott Strengthens Its Presence Across Europe

Marriott’s project development strategy in Europe embraces bold, design‑driven projects—ranging from creative transformations of historic buildings to striking new hotel builds—strengthening the brand’s footprint in both major cities and up‑and‑coming leisure destinations.

  • Marriott Kotor – Montenegro

Set to open in 2027, the future Marriott Kotor is one of the more intriguing new hotel buildings currently underway in Southeastern Europe. Located on the site of the former Jugopetrol building and URC car park, the property is being designed by BusinessArt d.o.o., with Alpha Hotel Management overseeing operations. The 120-room hotel will include a conference room, spa center, restaurant, and bar.

  • The Shelbourne, Autograph Collection – Dublin, Ireland

This iconic property is undergoing a full refurbishment as part of Marriott’s ongoing hotel renovation projects in Europe. When complete, The Shelbourne will maintain its legacy as a symbol of classic luxury in Dublin, but with a fresh layer of personality—and 265 rooms! Bryan O’Sullivan Studio is leading the interior redesign, making sure to include elegant historical references with playful, modern touches.

Marriott Expands Footprint Across the Americas

Across North and South America, Marriott is expanding its footprint with developments that celebrate local culture, smart design, and eco‑friendly amenities. From vibrant city centers to distinctive resort destinations, the brand continues to evolve its presence across the region.

  • Marriott Cedar Park City Hotel – Texas, USA

Opening in 2027, this 300-room hotel is part of a major mixed-use project that includes a 30,000-square-foot convention center, retail space, and a full-service restaurant and bar. With a pool, café, and fitness facilities, it’s a key part of Marriott’s project development in secondary U.S. markets.

  • Element by Westin / Moxy Vancouver Downtown – British Columbia, Canada

Set to open in 2028, this 30-story tower brings two Marriott hotels to downtown Vancouver: 280 Moxy rooms and 112 Element by Westin rooms. Moxy targets social, design-savvy guests, while Element focuses on wellness and longer stays. The project is a standout example of Marriott's dual-brand strategy in high-density urban areas.

Marriott Builds Momentum in APAC Markets

Marriott's pipeline in the Asia-Pacific region reflects the growing demand for high-end hospitality in both established and fast-developing markets. These new hotel buildings are often designed to offer standout architectural features, strong ties to local culture, and future-forward guest experiences.

  • Fairfield by Marriott Guwahati – India

Planned to open in 2027, this 150-room hotel will rise along Guwahati Airport Road. Backed by a ₹500 crore investment from Jonali Constructions, it’s part of the region’s broader development push and represents a notable new hotel construction project in Northeast India.

  • Aloft Zhuhai Xiangzhou – China

With 260 rooms and an expected opening in 2026, this Aloft property is nearing completion. As of mid-2025, most of the construction was already finished, marking it as one of Marriott’s more advanced new hotel buildings in southern China’s tech-driven Zhuhai district.

Where Marriott Goes, Opportunity Follows

From reimagined landmarks to bold new builds, Marriott’s global development strategy is more than growth— it’s about creating memorable stays for guests and opportunities for local partners. With projects rising across continents, the brand continues to redefine the guest experience, creating fresh opportunities for the hotel suppliers who help bring each property to life. After all, when Marriott checks in somewhere new, so do the designers, builders, and makers who keep its world turning.
